The beverage industry has a lot of advantages of this carbohydrate-based product because it can also help reduce costs as all the characteristics are provided in one product instead of needing many others.

Similar to other carbohydrates, maltodextrin decreases glycogen breakdown during long-duration exercise. When combined with protein, maltodextrins can enhance glycogen recovery and stimulate muscle protein synthesis after exercise.

Maltodextrin is used as an ingredient in capsules in the pharma industry, as it neither adds nor reduces the value of the medicinal content while stabilizing the drugs. It is used in tableting pharmaceutical compounds, such as in roller compaction. Fruit and vegetable juice concentrates can be spray dried onto maltodextrin to create powdered forms. In molecular gastronomy, oils are often mixed with maltodextrin to create powdered versions with no additional flavoring.

The carbohydrate-based product is used as an absorbent, binding agent, emulsion stabilizer, and film-forming agent in manufacturing cosmetic products. Moreover, we can find it in baby products, bath products, cleansing products, eye makeup, shaving preparations, and hair and skin care products.
